A Preview of Something Big Coming in 2026 at the multimedia museum Planet Sarajevo

Planet Sarajevo recently welcomed students from the Pop Rock School, who explored the exhibition through a specially guided visit. The young musicians had the opportunity to engage with Sarajevo’s golden era, its musical and film heritage, and the city’s unique creative spirit. Their visit was more than an educational experience — it served as the first step toward a major collaboration planned for 2026 between Planet Sarajevo, the Pop Rock School and Radio Kameleon. The energy and curiosity the students brought with them highlighted how meaningful this space is for emerging artists.

Planet Sarajevo has quickly become a reference point not only for tourists looking for things to do in Sarajevo, but also for young creatives who want to understand the city through sound, memory and multimedia expression.

During their visit, Pop Rock School students explored interactive segments, archival materials, VR elements and a curated presentation of Sarajevo’s musical legacy — exactly the type of experience travellers seek when searching what to see in Sarajevo, Sarajevo tourist attractions, indoor activities in Sarajevo, or family-friendly things to do in Sarajevo, especially during winter months. As a modern cultural hub, Planet Sarajevo continues to shape new collaborations and create innovative content that enriches the city’s cultural landscape.

We encourage all visitors, families, followers and those preparing their trip to Sarajevo to keep an eye on our announcements. A significant joint project is on the horizon — one that will highlight young talent, celebrate Sarajevo’s music scene and bring a fresh cultural experience to both locals and tourists searching for unique things to do in Sarajevo. Planet Sarajevo remains a space where music, innovation and history meet — and in 2026, this story is about to grow even bigger.

Multimedia museum Planet Sarajevo, one of the most innovative cultural projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina, achieved a major success this evening at the No Limit Festival, the most significant regional showcase of creativity in the field of advertising.

Among numerous campaigns, brands, and creative solutions, Planet Sarajevo shone twice, winning two gold awards — in the categories of New Technologies and Inside Branding. This award serves as a confirmation of the museum’s unique concept, which combines contemporary design, innovative technologies, and the rich cultural and historical memory of Sarajevo. From Planet Sarajevo, they emphasize that this recognition is a powerful encouragement and a confirmation that the city and its audience recognize the importance of a modern approach to interpreting cultural heritage.

‘This is only the beginning — we’re going even stronger,’ the team states. This is a place where the past, present, and technology become one.

XRculture Transforms European Heritage into Holographic Journeys for Tourism Lovers. Six captivating museums across Europe will soon offer visitors a new way to experience history — through immersive holographic postcards powered by XR technology. Imagine holding history in your hands — where ancient cities, castles, and monuments rise before your eyes, brought to life through shimmering holograms. This vision is becoming a reality through XRculture, an EU-funded project at the forefront of digital cultural heritage innovation.
XRculture project harnesses the power of 3D digitisation, artificial intelligence, and extended reality (XR) to enrich the Common European Data Space for Cultural Heritage. Its mission is to make cultural treasures more accessible, interactive, and engaging — not just preserved, but reimagined for the next generation of travellers, learners, and dreamers.

At the heart of XR Culture’s tourism innovation is the AR hologram function within the 3D-heritage.eu platform, developed to repurpose existing 3D models into interactive XR experiences. Using only a mobile phone and a simple foldable hologram pyramid, visitors can explore holographic projections of cultural landmarks anywhere — from museum galleries to outdoor heritage sites, in an innovative, excited way.

Six heritage destinations across Europe have been selected through the project’s open call to create holographic postcards – immersive experiences for visitors at locations: Bosnia and Herzegovina: Planet Sarajevo; Germany: “Bremen Cog” at the German Maritime Museum; Greece: Syros Island – Hermoupolis; Italy: The Roman City of Augusta Bagiennorum; Slovenia: Romanesque Rotunda of St. Nicholas in Selo; Ukraine: The Old Castle of Kamianets-Podilskyi.

This hybrid experience combines the physical charm of travel with the magic of digital storytelling. No expensive hardware or complex software is required — just curiosity, creativity, and a love for culture.

Planet Sarajevo has been awarded the Vision 100 recognition for its contribution to culture and innovation as one of the best new museums in Sarajevo. This prestigious Vision 100 Award is presented by Business News in cooperation with the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina, under the patronage of Presidency Member of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović.

The Vision 100 Award was established in 2023 to honor outstanding projects, initiatives, and business achievements that contribute to strengthening and supporting the domestic economy. This year, the award was presented to individuals, companies, and institutions recognized for their sustainability, innovation, and support for local communities, as well as for creating a positive economic and social environment.

Planet Sarajevo was recognized as a unique project that blends culture, art, and digital technology into a contemporary narrative of Sarajevo’s legends and myths. As the first exhibition of its kind in the region, Planet Sarajevo contributes to the development of cultural tourism and the growth of the local creative industry. ‘Our goal was to create a space that connects the past and the future — a place where tradition meets technology, and emotion meets knowledge. This recognition is especially meaningful because it comes from the business community. It confirms that the creative industry, art, and innovation can also be drivers of social progress and economic development,’ said Edina Selesković, author of the Planet Sarajevo exhibition. The Vision 100 Award further affirms the significance of Planet Sarajevo as a new cultural and tourist attraction of the city, and as an example of a sustainable model of collaboration between art, business, and society.

At the multimedia museum Planet Sarajevo, as part of the Sidran Days Cultural Festival, the event Sidran Between Poetry and Film brought together numerous admirers of the life and work of Abdulah Sidran.

In the discussion led by Seno Musabegović, participants included academic Mile Stojić and actor Izudin Bajrović, and a segment of the interview that Sidran gave especially for Planet Sarajevo was also shown. The author of the exhibition, Edina Selesković, emphasized that Sidran was ‘the strongest wind in our sails’ during the creation of the museum, which bears the name of his poem and book Planet Sarajevo.

Stojić highlighted that Sidran’s relationship with Sarajevo is unique, comparable to Borges and Buenos Aires or Cavafy and Alexandria, and that his spirit will forever remain inscribed in the city.

Miranda Sidran, president of the Sidran Foundation, said that all festival events attracted great attention and awakened deep emotions, while Planet Sarajevo enriched the city’s cultural scene. Musabegović added that Sidran, through poetry and film, creates a map of Sarajevo – a city whose soul he brings to life through scents, sounds, and images.

The director of the project, Zlatko Berbić, expressed pride that Planet Sarajevo is becoming a place for the city’s cultural community to gather, reminding that Sidran is a poet Sarajevo will always remember. Sidran’s creative work remains a lasting part of the city’s identity – proof that Sarajevo lives through its poets and their art.

The Interpretation Center Planet Sarajevo, a new immersive multimedia museum in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, has received the Best New Tourist Product Award, as the best new tourist attraction in Sarajevo, presented as part of the Tourism Expo Sarajevo 2025.

This prestigious recognition was awarded for the innovative approach to interpreting Sarajevo’s cultural heritage through the authentic, educational, and emotional experience that Planet Sarajevo offers. As a new cultural attraction, Planet Sarajevo brings to life the spirit of the city from the 1950s, 60s, 70s, and 80s — a period when Sarajevo was the epicenter of music, sports, art, community, and good vibes. Through modern technology, multimedia installations, and interactive content, visitors embark on a visual and emotional journey through time.

TOURISM EXPO SARAJEVO is the leading international tourism fair in Bosnia and Herzegovina, bringing together key players from the fields of tourism, hospitality, culture, and the creative industries. The Interpretation Center Planet Sarajevo, located at 56 Maršala Tita Street, is finally open to the public. Planet Sarajevo is a time capsule that preserves the spirit of Sarajevo from 1945 to 1991.

With numerous artifacts, photographs, recordings, and across 40 screens, some of which are interactive, it offers visitors a completely new and immersive experience.

We’ve turned into something you can touch—something that can present that moment and show why Sarajevo mattered so much.

Now we have the chance, in a way that’s engaging for those who are seven and those who are seventy-seven, to say that we had top architects, top artists, top filmmakers, scientists, business leaders, and athletes—and to prove that this city is moving forward, that we’re not always looking back, and to see how Sarajevo can once again be a regional center,’ said Selesković at the opening.

The director of the project, Interpretation Center Planet Sarajevo, Zlatko Berbić, said that this center is also a response to the challenges of a new era and a new audience growing up with mobile phones. ‘Young people today want to be participants; they want their own experiences. The entire Planet Sarajevo was designed to be universally different, contemporary—to be a planet.

So, it’s not a planet as in something small; Planet Sarajevo tells Sarajevo’s story in a universal, global, and contemporary way. When you enter, you see forty-something screens and you can choose the content yourself,’ said Berbić.

‘Planet Sarajevo represents the city’s golden age, which we are all extremely proud of and want to share with the world. I invite all my fellow citizens to visit the newly opened museum and to be good hosts to all our guests,’ said the mayor at the opening. The exhibition can be visited every day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Planet Sarajevo project was realized with the support of BH Telecom, Sarajevska Pivara, NLB Bank, and Kommerling, under the patronage of the Federal Ministry of Tourism and Environment and the City of Sarajevo.
